This preservative is very effective in small amounts for gels, body mists and hair care products. Usage can be as low as 0.1%, but recommend 0.2%. This is a broad spectrum preservative, but not quite suited to lotions and creams as they are considerably more complicated in their formulation. This bottle will go a long way and is quite cost effective.

As a safe and commonly used preservative in bath products; continuous debate about DMDM Hydantoin being a formaldehyde producer is somewhat misleading. In any bath product, the level of formaldehyde is 2 parts per billion. As an example, chlorine in tap water is 1 part per million (and you ingest it!). Being a 'wash off' product, it is considered safe to use by both the FDA and other international associations.
