These are oil based, designed for lip balms or edible oils and used at 1% (more can be added for additional strength). Do not be confused with food flavourings, which are water or alcohol based. Avoid adding essential oil or fragrances, as they could be toxic and not intended for ingesting.

Sweetener - 4oz/120mL

We struggled finding a sweetener for lip balms. All sugars are water soluble, and licorice didn't do it for us. What we made was a super fine sweetened powder, added to a plain lip balm and double filtered it. Wow! Simply, all you need to do is add 1 teaspoon to every 4 ounces/120mL of lip balm or lip gloss to give a pleasant sweetness. Great for boosting flavours. **Colors to use are oil based lakes or oxides. Do not use water based dyes like the FD&C grades or food colorings.
