Dimethicone
Dimethicone (Dow Corning® 350)Dimethicone is a lightweight, versatile silicone fluid that delivers exceptional slip and a silky-smooth after-feel in personal care formulations. Cyclopentasiloxane
Cyclopentasiloxane is a lightweight silicone fluid widely used in personal care formulations for its excellent slip, spreadability, and conditioning properties. With a heavier viscosity than some silicones, it imparts a smooth, silky feel and a high level of shine, making it ideal for haircare, skincare, and cosmetic applications. This silicone also provides a temporary barrier effect that enhances skin and hair softness but may build up with repeated use; the effect is easily removed with standard cleansing. Highly stable and versatile, Cyclopentasiloxane is commonly used in leave-on products such as serums, lotions, and hair treatments, as well as in rinse-off products.
Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil is a refined and deodorized natural oil with minimal odor, making it highly versatile for personal care formulations. USP/cosmetic grade, it is ideal for soap making, skincare, body care, and lip care products. Known for its stability, this oil resists oxidation and rancidity more effectively than many other plant oils. With a melting point of 25 °C (77 °F), it stays solid at room temperature but melts easily on skin contact, delivering smooth application and nourishing emollience.

When combined with Potassium Sorbate at a pH between 4–6, it is considered safe and effective by both the FDA and Health Canada. While there has been some concern over benzene formation, this only occurs under specific conditions—very low pH in combination with ascorbic acid (Vitamin C)

Recognized for nearly 50 years as an effective antimicrobial agent, it helps inhibit the growth of mold, yeast, and some bacteria. With an EWG rating of 2, Potassium Sorbate is considered low-risk and is permitted for use in personal care formulations. It is especially valued in natural-inspired products as a gentler preservative option, though it is not broad spectrum and should be combined with other preservatives for complete protection.
