Vegetable Sugar Scrub Base

Vegetable Sugar Scrub Base is a premium, all-vegetable exfoliating base designed for private label and bulk skincare production. When combined with sugar, it forms a stable, non-separating paste that eliminates oil pooling common in traditional scrubs. Enriched with emulsifiers, oils, and fatty acids, it transforms into a cream-like exfoliant that rinses clean, leaving skin soft and conditioned without a greasy residue. Ideal for custom formulations, this base allows manufacturers to control costs and texture while delivering high-performance body scrubs for retail, spa, and professional use.

How to Use

Add sugar to the base and mix well. You can use variable ratios of sugar to the scrub base in order to find your preferred thickness.  Mix well and can leave it as natural or include fragrance or essential oil. To use a sugar scrub, start with damp skin. Scoop out a small amount of the scrub and gently massage it onto your skin in a circular motion, focusing on rough or dry areas. Rinse thoroughly with soapy water and pat dry. Use 2-3 times a week for smoother, softer skin. Avoid using on broken or irritated skin, and follow up with a moisturizer for best results.

Vegetable-Based Sugar Scrub – Mixing Instructions

You may use white, brown, or Demerara sugar when preparing this scrub. Avoid using salt, as it acts as a drying agent. Note that oil may naturally rise to the surface over time.

Mixing ratios can vary based on the desired texture:

  • 3:1 or 4:1 (3–4 parts sugar to 1 part base) creates a crumbly scrub.
  • 2:1 (2 parts sugar to 1 part base) produces a softer, more whipped texture, similar to mashed potatoes, but with a slightly oilier feel.

To mix:

1. Measure the desired amount of sugar.

2. Add the base and your chosen fragrance.

3. Combine by hand, in a large mixer, or using a paddle and bowl.

Fragrance is typically added at 0.5%–1% of the total mixture weight, though you may increase this level to suit personal preference.
