Omega-3 Hemp Conditioning Shampoo

Omega-3 Hemp Conditioning Shampoo is a gentle, SLS-free shampoo formulated to cleanse while nourishing the hair and scalp. Enriched with hemp oil esters containing Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, it helps improve hair softness, shine, and strength without leaving a greasy residue. A blend of Aloe, Chamomile, Calendula, Red Clover, Willow Bark, and Elder Flower extracts helps support healthy-looking hair while soothing the scalp. Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) enhances moisture and manageability, making this shampoo ideal for thin to medium hair types seeking clean, soft, and naturally conditioned hair without buildup.

How to Use

  1. Wet your hair thoroughly
Use warm (not hot) water to fully soak your hair from roots to tips. This helps open the cuticle and prepare it for cleansing.
  2. Dispense the shampoo
Squeeze a small amount into your palm — about the size of a quarter for medium-length hair. Adjust based on hair length and thickness.
  3. Apply to scalp
Gently massage the shampoo into your scalp using your fingertips (not nails). Focus on the roots where oil and buildup collect.
  4. Work through the lengths
As you massage the scalp, let the lather run down the rest of your hair. Avoid scrubbing the ends too much, as this can cause dryness.
  5. Rinse thoroughly
Use warm water to wash out all shampoo until your hair feels clean and there’s no slippery residue.
  6. Repeat if needed
If hair is very dirty, oily, or has product buildup, you can shampoo a second time.
  7. Condition (recommended)
Apply conditioner after shampooing to replenish moisture and smooth the hair cuticle.

Tip: Always follow with a cool rinse at the end to help seal the hair cuticle for extra shine.

Bath Care Mixing Instructions

Gel and clear bath products can react differently to various fragrances or essential oils. Some may become cloudy or thin, others may thicken, and some may remain unchanged. Each fragrance or essential oil behaves differently. Fragrance suppliers are not required to disclose all components in their blends, often citing “proprietary information.” Ingredients can include butylene, propylene glycol, glycerin, carrier oils, hexane, or other combined solvents — all of which can affect the product’s texture and clarity.

Common Reactions & Solutions

1. Cloudy Appearance (not caused by bubbles)

  • Cause: The fragrance or essential oil is not fully blending into the gel.
  • Solution: Pre-blend the fragrance with a solubilizer before adding it to the gel, especially if using heavier fragrance loads.

2. Product Becomes Watery

  • Cause: The fragrance has thinned the gel base.
  • Solution: Add a small amount of table salt to increase viscosity, then wait overnight before judging results.
    • If too much salt is added, the gel may break — simply add distilled or deionized water to dilute the salt.
    • If needed, use a gel thickener.

3. Gel Becomes Too Thick or Jelly-Like

  • Cause: The fragrance has increased viscosity too much.
  • Solution: Allow the mixture to sit overnight, as the texture may normalize. If still too thick the next day, add a small amount of distilled or deionized water.

Before You Begin Testing

  • Disinfect all utensils, containers, and equipment that will contact the product.
  • Use either:
    • A mild bleach solution rinse, or
    • A mist of rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) from a spray bottle.

Tools & Materials

  • Plastic container
  • Scale (optional)
  • Spoons & stirring utensils
  • Plastic zip-lock or freezer bags (for pouring and storing samples)
  • Fragrance
  • Color (optional)
  • Solubilizer (test in advance to see if it’s needed)

Testing Steps

  1. Place your container on a scale and “zero” the reading.
    1. If you don’t have a scale, use a graduated measuring cup.
  2. Pour a predetermined amount of gel base into the container.
    1. A good test amount is 240 ml (8 oz) — easy to measure and work with.
  3. Add fragrance or essential oil at 0.5% to start.
    1. For 240 ml (8 oz), this equals ½ teaspoon of fragrance.
    2. Stir slowly to avoid creating bubbles.
    3. Check results — if you want a stronger scent, add an additional ⅓ teaspoon and observe for changes.
  4. If the gel still looks good, add color (if desired). Let it sit overnight to confirm it keeps the same consistency.
  5. If the gel becomes very cloudy and doesn’t clear overnight, you will need to restart.
  6. To prevent clouding and separation, use a solubilizer.
    1. A solubilizer breaks fragrance oils into tiny droplets so they disperse evenly.
    2. Blend 1 part fragrance to 1 part solubilizer in a separate container.
    3. Example: ½ teaspoon fragrance + ½ teaspoon solubilizer, mixed well.
    4. Add this blend to the gel and observe.
    5. If all looks good and you want a higher fragrance load, add ⅓ teaspoon fragrance + ⅓ teaspoon solubilizer.
    6. Watch for both cloudiness and viscosity changes.
  7. If you notice a drop in viscosity, add table salt to thicken:
    1. For 240 ml (8 oz), start with ¼ teaspoon salt. Stir slowly until dissolved.
    2. If there’s little change, add another ¼ teaspoon.
    3. Wait overnight before bottling.
    4. If it becomes too watery, add distilled or deionized water to reduce salt concentration.
    5. If problems persist, use a gel thickener.
  8. To fill bottles:
    1. Pour gel into a zip-lock or freezer bag, cut a small corner off, and squeeze into bottles
    2. Pour directly from the container if the gel is thin enough.
