Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate (SLES)

Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulphate (SLES) is a highly effective and economical anionic surfactant derived from coconut. Known for its excellent foaming and cleansing properties, it is widely used in shampoos, body washes, liquid soaps, facial cleansers, and even toothpaste. Compared to Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), SLES is milder on skin and less irritating while still delivering strong performance. Despite misconceptions, both the FDA and Health Canada have confirmed that SLS and SLES are safe for use in personal care products. While continuous use of these surfactants in full strength without rinsing can cause irritation, they are not carcinogenic.
