Plantaren® 2000 (Decyl Glucoside) is a mild, nonionic surfactant derived from renewable natural resources such as vegetable oils and starch. Readily biodegradable and preservative-free, it is considered an environmentally friendly “green” surfactant. Known for its gentle yet effective cleansing action, it can be used as either a primary or secondary surfactant in shampoos, body washes, facial cleansers, and other rinse-off formulations. Its mild profile makes it especially suitable for sensitive skin and baby care products.

Use Plantaren® 2000 at 5%–25%, depending on its role in the formulation. At lower levels, it serves as a secondary surfactant to boost foam and improve mildness; at higher levels, it can function as the primary surfactant in gentle cleansing systems.
