Our body produces hyaluronic acid, particularly when we’re young. This is the sodium salt of hyaluronan for joints and connective tissue. As we age, produces less. Hyaluronic acid is known to have both a hydrating and plumping effect on the skin.
The High Molecular Weight (HMW) Hyaluronic acid (0.75 to 1.5 million Daltons) sits on the surface of the skin, offers hydration, protection from the environmental and adds elasticity.
The Low Molecular Weight (LMW) Hyaluronic acid (<30,000 Daltons) has a smaller molecular profile, which penetrates under the epidermis, offering a plumping and fuller looking effect, giving some anti-aging qualities.
Together it creates a synergistic blend.
Usage: 1%-100%. Can be used on its own, or added to boost product claim and efficacy.
