All vegetable components are used in this thickened body scrub base. When 1 part sugar is mixed with it, this becomes a paste, eliminating the "pooling" of oils associated with many brands. Typically, a scrub acts as a mild exfoliator when rubbed on the skin; but this formula includes emulsifiers, oils, and fatty acids, essentially making it a cream base...minus the water. When the scrub is exposed to water, you will notice your skin soft and conditioned when rinsed, unlike the greasy after feel of straight oils (requiring soap, then moisturizing). By adding your own sugar, you keep costs down on the final product. You can use salt, but it tends to create a small pool of oil on the surface and dries the skin much more than sugar.

Ingredients (New & Improved)

Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol*, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Glyceryl Stearate, Stearic Acid, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Polysorbate 60*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopherol (Vitamin E).

* Cetearyl Alcohol and Polysorbate 60 is the breakdown of Emulsifying Wax, which is a new labeling requirement

Add sugar to the base and mix well. You can use variable ratios of sugar to the scrub base in order to find your preferred thickness.  Mix well and can leave it as natural or include fragrance or essential oil. To use a sugar scrub, start with damp skin. Scoop out a small amount of the scrub and gently massage it onto your skin in a circular motion, focusing on rough or dry areas. Rinse thoroughly with soapy water and pat dry. Use 2-3 times a week for smoother, softer skin. Avoid using on broken or irritated skin, and follow up with a moisturizer for best results.
